What makes commercial heating work different?
Scale and accountability. A commercial system often serves more people across a bigger space, so sizing and controls need to reflect actual occupancy and use patterns, not a single household's habits. On top of that, landlords and business owners carry compliance and record-keeping responsibilities that a homeowner simply doesn't — missed servicing or certification isn't just an inconvenience, it's a legal exposure.
We work with landlords managing multiple properties and businesses with a single commercial premises, and we're upfront if a job is genuinely outside what we're set up to handle rather than taking it on regardless. If your commercial property is rented, our gas safety certificates page covers what's legally required.

Recent project
Seven heating zones for a multi-tenant heritage building.
Ninja Ops Ltd engineered and installed the commercial heating system for the Old Fire Station on Gosforth High Street — a three-storey stone building dating to the late 1800s, now home to a mix of independent businesses under one roof, including a yoga studio, a salon, and third-floor offices.
Every tenant has different heating needs and different hours, so we split a Worcester Bosch system into seven independently controlled zones — each business sets its own temperature without affecting anyone else in the building. Old stone buildings are notoriously hard to heat efficiently, so we used smart controls to keep energy waste down, and installed everything to a standard that respects the building’s original character.
It’s the kind of multi-occupancy job our About page covers in more detail — get in touch if your property has a similar mix of tenants and heating demands.
Commercial Heating FAQ
Questions about commercial heating.
How is commercial heating different from a domestic boiler installation?
Commercial systems are typically larger, often serve multiple units or a bigger footprint, and carry different compliance and record-keeping obligations than a single domestic property. The engineering principles overlap, but the sizing, controls, and legal responsibilities for a landlord or business owner are genuinely different from a single-occupancy home.
Do you work with landlords who have multiple properties?
Yes — if you're managing several rental properties across Newcastle, we can coordinate servicing, repairs, and gas safety certificates across your portfolio rather than treating each property as a one-off, which is usually more efficient for everyone involved.
What size of commercial boiler installation do you handle?
Get in touch with details of the property and current or planned heating demand, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a job we're set up to handle or whether you'd be better served by a specialist for a particularly large-scale commercial installation.
Do commercial properties need gas safety certificates too?
Commercial and rented properties both carry gas safety obligations, though the specifics depend on the property type and use — see our gas safety certificates page for what's involved, and get in touch if you're unsure what applies to your specific premises.
How does zoning work for a building with multiple tenants?
A commercial heating system can usually be split into independently controlled zones, so each tenant or area sets its own temperature and schedule without affecting anyone else in the building. That's how we approached the Gosforth Old Fire Station — a single system serving several independent businesses, split into seven zones so each one controls its own heating separately, rather than one thermostat trying to suit everyone.
What happens if our commercial heating breaks down unexpectedly?
The same systematic fault-finding process applies as any breakdown — see our boiler repair page for how we diagnose faults rather than guess. Larger commercial systems can sometimes need parts or specialist knowledge that takes longer to source than a domestic job, and we'll be upfront about timescales rather than promise a fix we can't actually deliver.
